Alice Munro Wins Nobel Prize in Literature.

Alice Munro, the canadian short-story writer  won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature on 10th October. The Academy thinks that Ms. Munro, 82, was a "master of the contemporary short story".
The selection of Ms. Munro was greeted with an outpouring of enthusiasm in the English-speaking world, a temporary relief from recent years when the Swedish Academy chose winners who were obscure, difficult to comprehend or overtly political.

Our Opinion

Despite not having read any of Ms Munro short story, we think it is great news that the Swedish Academy  has recognized this writer many years of dedication to writing. The nobels are awards wich have been always awarder to men so it is a breakthrough that more and more women are being honored with this award that recognizes the years of dedication and work.
